We are excited to have purchased two lovely does from Nancy Boling of Springwater Farm in Idaho, one of them being Kate. We are so happy to add their genetics to our herd. Nancy had the honor of having one of her does chosen for the ADGA Spotlight Auction at the October 2017 ADGA convention in Texas.  The does we purchased made the long ride from Idaho to Texas, then from Texas to our farm in Louisiana.

We have been so thrilled with Kate’s udder.  She has a symmetrical udder, that is very capacious, with nice teat size, ease of milking, and good production.

We took her to her first show in September 2018.  We decided at the last minute, by that time we were down to milking Kate every other day and sometimes skipping two days in between milkings.  Yet, she still placed third in both rings in her age class.  In 2019 Kate placed second at the Alabama Dairy Goat Show at the Alabama National Fair.  Again by the time she was shown, we were down to milking her every other day.  I am certain if she would have had an udder like she had when we were milking her regularly, she would have done better at both shows.

She has been bred by AI this year (2020) with semen from Sugar Moon Alejandro, an Elite buck with superior genetics from Nancy Boling’s farm.  We are super excited to see what the pairing will produce in their progeny!
